LP : Tuyo (Dry)

Posted by SASSY MOM | Thursday, July 16, 2009 | , | 10 comments »

(Dried Fish as we call them, is very common among the sidestreets of Pangasinan and other coastal cities here in the Philippines. We decided to drop by in one of the stores and look for something as homecoming treats coming from a vacation in La Union.)

PHOTOHUNT : Garbage

I just wish all establishments have this kind of garbage container. This was taken at Thunderbird Resort Poro Point in one of our recent summer escapades. Beautiful, isn't it? Not only aesthetically but it easier to sort the garbage out for proper disposal. Good for the environment!

Mommy Moments : Pouting Face

mommy moments

I always look forward to Mommy Moments because I get to post the photos of my favorite models, my kids. One thing great about my addiction to photography is that I can catch my kids in their different moods. Just like these collage the big ones are taken when they were begging me to go out some more and not to go home. The individual photos were taken when they were really annoyed at me for some reason. Well the mommy that I am, I don't easily give in to their tantrums but instead I take pictures of them to change their mood.

LP : Basa (Wet)

Posted by SASSY MOM | Wednesday, July 08, 2009 | | 18 comments »

Ang tema ngayong linggo ay basa. Ang aking unang lahok ay basang kalsada sa Subic Boardwalk. Katatapos pa lamang ng ulan ng madalaw kami rito para kumain sa isa sa mga summer outing naim.

(This week's theme is Wet. For my first entry, here's the street of Subic Boardwalk after the rain. I chanced upon this scene in one of our summer outings.)

Heto naman ang shower malapit sa beach front ng Thunderbird Poro Point Resort. (And here's the shower near the beachfront of Thunderbird Poro Point Resort.)

At syempre pinakamasarap magtampisaw and magbasa sa pool kapag summer kaya heto ang litrato ng mga anak ko ng nagtatampisaw at nag-eenjoy sa sa tubig. (Of course, the best way to enjoy summer is to jump into the pool especially during summer. Here's a picture of my kids enjoying the water.)

Weekend was a busy one for me. Saturday was spent bonding with the kids courtesy of Bisolvon . I got invited to this event by Yehey.Com, I said yes because the kids have become very restless after 2 weeks off from school. (Classes were suspended due to AH1N1 scare)The kids enjoyed the day doing crafts-- scrapbooking and jewelry making.

Bisolvon Event

Of course, the highlight of the day was when they asked me if they have an hour on the ice skating rink -- and I immediately obliged. My daughter used to take ice skating lessons, that's why I am so confident that she can take care of her small brother.

How was your weekend? Hope you enjoyed it as well as I am. Have a great week ahead!

If you do not have anything important to this Saturday, July 4, 2009. You might want to drop by at the SM Mall of Asia as the most trusted cough syrup launches "Bisolvon Bilis-Alis Ubo ng Pamilya". The activity will start at 10:30 am at Level 1, SM Mall of Asia (beside the Ice Skating Rink).

Bisolvon have prepared different activities for the whole family which is guaranteed to bring joy and excitement for both parents and kids. I already got my kids excited to go. They got so bored after staying at home for 2 weeks since school was suspended. I am looking forward to a fun-filled Saturday with my kids.

More games and entertainment are in store, too! See you there!

Mommy Moments : Encounter with Animals

mommy moments

Time flies so fast and the pictures below have made me teary-eyed seeing the transition of my kids. This week's theme for Mommy Moments is "encounter with animals". Admittedly, I am not so into animals. Although we own a dog, a bullmastiff because my kids insisted that we buy the cute little puppy -- I told them you'll just play with her as long as she is a puppy. Apparently I was right! Our dog grew faster than they are and my kids do not have time for her anymore. Being a girl (our dog), she tends to be very playful with the kids although bull mastiffs are known to have a very good temperament, the enormous weight of this dog can really bring my boy down to the ground.

However, my daughter still finds time to walk her around for her exercise. The dog has grown so big I don't even have a decent picture of her. My daughter needs assistance every time she walks with the dog because of the dog's strength.

Adidas and Nike Clearance Sale at Megatrade Hall

Posted by SASSY MOM | Wednesday, July 01, 2009 | , | 0 comments »

I am a sucker for bargain so I jumped in to see if I can get some good finds here at the clearance sale of Adidas and Nike. My daughter has been asking me to buy her cheer leading shoes. Something light and of course durable, and I was not disappointed. However, just like any "sale", you should be ready for war. I came as soon as the mall opened and I got out by lunch time.

It was the line going to the cashier that made it worse. After a long wait getting the right size which took me about 30 minutes, I have to wait in line for me to pay my items. I was alone. So I suggest you go there with a companion who will line up for you while you choose you bargain find.

Do not be fooled by the 70% off. Not all items are on 70% discount only a few. Aside from my daughter's shoes, I also got P300 off my gym bag.

So if you are willing to line up for a good bargain, you can catch the Adidas and Nike Sale at the Megatrade Hall 1 of SM Megamall from July 1 - 5, 2009. Just in case, the whole family wants to have new shoes, deferred payments are available courtesy of BDO credit cards.

WS : Candle Holder

Posted by SASSY MOM | Sunday, June 28, 2009 | , | 7 comments »

This weekend was still quite busy for me even after the wedding that I coordinated for my BIL and his wife. I was cleaning the house when I got curios with the effect of the candle light inside this candle holder. This very colorful candle holder was my BIL's give away during their wedding.

So, I got my camera and took shots of it and this is my favorite.

This is taken without a flash just using the lighting at home. Although I know I still have to do better and save up for a camera flash. I still believe I took the shot the best I could.

Have a great week ahead!

I was shocked to wake up to the news of Michael Jackson's demise. CNN had the news all day and it really made me sad. I'm sure at one point in our lives we were touched by his music. Admittedly, I am! One of my faves is "She's Out of My Life" -- I remember imitating his MTV video when I was a teenager just like a model.

He is truly an exceptional performer. Although as he matured, rumors of his psychological instability have risen due to his freakish outlook but that did not stop the fans and the paparazzi from watching his every move. Because he is truly an icon!

I heard over CNN that he is planning a comeback concert this July, I guess he will be singing with the angels in heaven. When somebody goes ahead of us, it is best to remember the good side of a person.

Here's a video of "The King of Pop" rendering "Gone too Soon"

To MJ, you will surely be missed! God bless....
